The second of four new songs that will form my EP, releasing in spring 2017. This song is a new recording of a song I made a few years ago. It’s about one of my best friends who past away in cancer at the age of 15 and at the same time it’s a celebration to life and friendship.
Music and lyrics written by yours truly. The song is arranged by myself using Cubase Artist from Steinberg. The amazing piano comes from Toontrack and their EZ Keys and the drums are also thanks to them and the amazing drum set Music City USA. What really lifts this song is the unbelievable string section, programmed with help of IK Multimedia and their Orchestral Suite Miroslav Philharmonic 2. The subtle organ is VB3 from GSi.
The song is produced and recorded in my home studio except for the vocals who are recorded and co-produced by the amazing Ruben Engzell at Studio Ljudriket.
This song is mixed by Brian Skeel and mastered by Chris Graham at Chris Graham Mastering. I’m really satisfied with the collaboration with these fantastic guys.
I also wanna give a shout out to some of my engineer heroes, especially Joe Gilder at Home Studio Corner and Graham Cochrane at The Recording Revolution. Almost everything I learned the last six months about recording and mixing comes from them. So make sure to check them out.
I also had the great honour to be played and discussed by Dr Bones and his friends at “New Music Saturday”. A lot of kind words. My song goes on at around 27 minutes but I would recommend you to listen to the whole show since there’s a lot of other great music and the discussions are really interesting.
Keep it real!
