Twelve years old I heard “We’re only in it for the drugs” and “Staten och kapitalet” for the first time. And since then my life hasn’t been the same. Me and some class mates started a Ebba Grön-cover band (no guitarist, but I played the keyboard), Björn played the bass, André drums and Andreas was trying his best singing to our not overly tight playing.
Nineteen years later I’ve been listening to the whole discography countless times. Ebba Grön, Rymdimperiet, Imperiet and his solo albums has been a soundtrack to my adolescence and young adulthood. Even though I’m not overly fond of his latest albums and the more industrial inspired I can’t think of any artist that made that much music that influenced me that much.
So to celebrate his birthday here comes a playlist of my favorite songs with my guru and inspiration, Joakim “Pimme” Thåström.
“Flyktsoda ta mig i land sätt mig i brand, i brand, i brand, i brand”
