Some reviews and some great tunes

Really happy for the response on my post earlier today about building relationships within the independent music scene. Check it out here if you haven’t already.

Got some nice reviews of my EP “Psalms for Sinners”.

Bob Levoy on Oasis Entertainment:

“Psalm For Sinners is a four track EP released by Jon Magnusson, a songwriter, musician, and producer from Stockholm, Sweden.  This album has powerful vocals and great instrumentation, especially the keyboard parts on some of the tracks that reminds me of the style of Steve Winwood.”

AC Rock Reviews:

“Subtle changes between each song allows room for musical diversity without causing the release to go astray. Overall, this is a fun, charismatic and determined collection of songs which strives to success with its potent messages and strong musical qualities. ‘Psalm for Sinners’ really is a great and comfortable listen.”

Review Rating: 8

Also got an article on RB Magazine who’s also going to play me on their radio station RBX Radio

I have a lot of new music on my playlist so tonight I also give you four new recommendations:

My heart is a metronome is from the Swedish university city of Uppsala. And I can really get that this intelligent and smooth indie rock is popular among students. The song “Tierp” comes from the EP with the same name.

Miles Clayton from Canada plays ambient indie folk with sweet melodies and a suggestive arrangement. It really takes some concentration to really appreciate their music, I tried it in the car and wasn’t that amazed, but when I came home and listened in my headphones this song blew me away. Reminds me a bit of Bon Iver.

Speaking of ambient indie folk. Open Strum also make really great music. The single I choose, “Ocean Wave” from the album “The Painter’s Drum” is instrumental but I recommend to check out his other tracks as well.

And to sum up this Saturday I give you Mosley Bar a gang of young people playing great indie rock. I heard this song several times, for some reason I forgot to add it to the playlist and the blog, but here it is “Two Apart”.

That’s all for tonight! Keep rockin!
