But thanks to the international labor movement tomorrow is a day of, more about that then.
Got a nice write up from John Cronin in his Music Blog
“When I told my friend, Abe, that I liked this guy, Jon, in a weird way he went on to say that he didn’t know what I meant…… I honestly I just like him…. That is I like his intriguing sound that I haven’t heard others try to pull off before. “
And I will end this weekend in some with some really great music. For some reason all the four songs are in a way quite dark or sentimental. But hey, life can’t be jolly all the time.
First off is Of Allies who I happen to find via Riff Taff Music Network two days ago. Their new single “Lost not found” hit me right in the chest. Amazing modern rock with great instrumentation. But most of all the drums are amazing and I could spend a whole evening just listen to the snap in that snare drum.
Second out is a song I heard a lot of times. At first I found it quite strange and not my cup of tea. But the more I listen to it, the more I like it. I have no idea how to put this in a genre. But it’s dark, suggestive and sounds amazing. Leg Puppy is the name of the band and “Silence” comes from their latest album #feelthewoof
Speaking of dark music. With a track named “Jack the Ripper” and an intro that seems to come from a horror movie “Ill-advised” has a great industrial sound combined with really catchy melodies in the chorus. This song would make Trent Reznor proud.
Less industrial but not less emotional, rather the opposite, last but not least I present The Undertakers Office. This Norwegian act has released two songs on Spotify and “Lost” is one of the best songs I heard so far this year. Great guitar based folk with cinematic strings making a amazing foundation for some great vocals.
And as always, all songs can be heard on this playlist. To support the artist on it, take a good listen and make sure to follow and share it.
Have a great week!
