Less then three weeks ago I never did a live gig. Since then a lot has happened. I played my first gig live at Southside Cavern and thanks to my amazing friends from Atom Collector Records and Riff Taff Music Networking I’m going to make a mini tour in the UK 7-13 of August. So far I booked two gigs:
Hopefully I will book at least two more gigs, but nonetheless I’m gonna spend the week meet up with people I got to know through the indie music scene and going to explore some of the southern parts of the UK.
I also have some other great news. Through the artist and composer Jeremy Bryan (a.k.a. Kamileon) I got recommended to Music of the Sea and got to sign a Licensing Agreement, so hopefully I’ll get the opportunity to placement in TV, commercials and alike in the future.
Also had a meeting (and a few beers) with Ruben from Studio Ljudriket today to plan my next project. And from what it seems it will be a four track EP with live drums and everything. It feels like we will really get something good out of working together. The EP will hopefully be ready for release in the autumn.
When it comes to some media updates I’m so amazed to be featured on Zone Radio’s Top 40. And like that wasn’t enough I’m currently ranked at number 1! Enter the site to vote to keep me at the top.
Landed a great interview with the great folks at Exposed Vocals.
At last Verity White (an amazing artist her self by the way, check her out) thought I deserved a shout out on MusicHourUK Love on YouTube
It’s quite unbelievable how much has happened since October last year when I really decided to make an effort coming somewhere in my music career. At the same time I started a new work three months ago that I really enjoy and I have to say I feel so happy and privilege to both have a work that I like and a amazing hobby. And hopefully my music will become more than just a hobby in a few years time. But for now I feel like the last few months, even since it been a lot of fun, been quite exhausting as well. So tomorrow I’m going on a weeks vacation to Greece. So I’m taking a break from both music and work and I will get back in a week with even more energy.
But before that I wanna give some recommendations:
JJ Christie and I got in contact via Twitter and shared some music with each other. He’s actually from Australia, but after a while we figured out that he actually spent time 1997 in the same suburb of Stockholm where I currently live. It’s a small world. At that time he played in a Celtic Folk Band and now he does synth-pop with clear references to “New Order”. “Pay per view” is my favorite so far.
Next up is Operation Neptune Spear who refuses to let big brother see him (i.e. create a Facebook-page). If you ever wondered how a collaboration between Motörhead and Rage Against The Machine would sound like, here’s your answer. Groovy, political rock with a lot of feeling is what he provides us with and “Thieves in the night” is an amazing song.
Another Twitter-friend is Tristyn Leech who makes really emotional folk rock with a touch of blues. Great melodies and a great voice.
And before I go on my holiday I give some great pop punk from UK. Mr Happy Chainsaw has a EP coming in June and “Standing There” is the first single from that one, and since it’s a great single I bet the EP is gonna be great as well.
So have a great week and see you all soon! And remember #KEEPOUTOFTHEMAINSTREAM
