Finally got some energy to write a post after my vacation. Vacation in Greece was great, got some time just to relax from both work and music for a week so now I’m ready to take on recording my new EP and playing some gig.
For some reason it seams that my music suits the UK and South Africa. UK isn’t such a surprise as South Africa where I last week was number 3 on Zone Radio Top 40. Fell down a few places this week but still going strong on number 6.
And most of all I got in contact with the really friendly Ronald, producer on SAfm which is South African national radio. He really liked my newest EP and this Wednesday I had the great opportunity to be interviewed by Ronald and the interview was aired yesterday and here you can listen to the podcast version:
And tomorrow is the big day. I’m playing live at PSB in Södermalm, Stockholm. A lot of friends and some family is coming to see me on what didn’t become my first gig, but still it feels like some kind of premiere since a lot of people is coming. And 10 days after, I get the great honour to support Planefield, also at PSB, at 8PM Wednesday 28 of June.
Some other great news gig wise. I’m going to play live together with the very talented Izzy Fin and Verity White in Brighton, UK 9th of August. I’ll give more information when everything is confirmed. So far I booked three gigs and will hopefully land two more, making it five in total on my mini UK-tour. Six months ago I couldn’t even have imagined that I’m going to play live in the UK.
Talking about Verity White she released a new EP yesterday “Stripped Bare”. She’s a really great rock singer, but since I’m not that big fan of rock I was so happy to see that she made an acoustic EP which shows that she is at least as good at singing folk songs as rock. My favorite song from the EP is “From the Light” written to her husband Alex (who’s also gonna play together with me, Verity and Izzy in Brighton).
The second recommendation tonight is also of the softer kind. Daniel Scarsella contacted me via mail and sent me a song for consideration. And it’s amazing. Acoustic guitar and vocals in a Elliot Smith-ish style and some nice string arrangements.
And the third and last song for tonight is also an acoustic folk tune. Simon Baum and I got in contact on Twitter, always great to find new music from unknown, but oh so talented people.
That’s all for tonight! See you at PSB tomorrow, and never forget, #KEEPOUTOFTHEMAINSTREAM
