Sunday was a truly amazing day. The day started with Ruben and Jesper, recording drums in Studio Ljudriket. Whilst Ruben was turning in an amazing sound Jesper did an incredible job recording all four songs that’s going to be on my upcoming EP in less than six hours. Me, I was trying not do melt in the sauna-like studio and coming with some ideas here and there. Together we made all the drum tracks sound incredible and it’s a real honour to work with such talented people. Can’t wait for next studio session when we will record guitars.
Later on I met up with my old homie Vincent Jedselius and his musicians Fredrik and Micke. Together we reminisced a bit over a cold beer before the show. An at 19:30 I went on stage to what was supposed to be my first gig (but then came the Southside gig and became some kind of general repetition). A lot of friends and family and some other people had shown up, and I thought I would be more nervous, but the show went great and I played for about 40 minutes both old and new stuff and some covers. Unfortunately the live stream got cut off so I don’t have any good video from the show. But at least some photos. And I really wanna thank everyone who showed up! You’re the best!asd
And then I got to see Vincent live for the first time. And what a show he put on. Mostly new songs and they sounds amazing. His old stuff is good but it’s obvious that he developed even more and I can’t wait for him to finish his new EP.
I have some other fun stuff going on as well. I really like to connect with other artists and other people in the independent music scene and I really like trying new ways to make connections. A few weeks a go I did a experiment creating a Twitter-thread to connect great people with other great people. And it resulted in total madness and a lot of new connection getting made. Now we are 50 people in the thread mixing serious stuff with some not so serious. The thread has become a #MonsterThread. And yesterday me and Juxta John from Atom Collector Records got the same idea to do a playlist with music from people on #MonsterThread. Said and done I made a Collaborative Playlist on Spotify that went to the roof with 35 followers and close to 100 great songs already. So follow it and check out some great independent tunes and you can also add up to four songs your self. So take the chance and get some new listeners.
JJ took on the project to make a playlist on SoundCloud, well worth following as well.
And finally it wouldn’t be a real post without some recommendations. All of them taken from the #MonsterThread-playlist (so there’s another reason to join in on it).
My friends in Planefield released a new single yesterday and it’s even better then the last one. Starting with an atmospheric acoustic guitar and the great voice of Leo and building up to their original atmospheric electric guitar sound from Per in the middle of the song makes this a true musical jewel.
Daniel Feinberg is an American guy from Seattle making happy and uplifting indie-pop and my favorite song from him is Summer on the West Coast.
And last out is something that is way out my normal musical taste. But my buddy TRiP makes such great electronic music I can’t resist it and this song has been played in my headphones at least five times the last hour. So if you’re in to electronic music check it out and if not, check it out anyway!
Sorry for a really long post, but so much going on and so much great music to promote I can’t help myself! See you all soon and #KEEPOUTOFTHEMAINSTREAM
